It is taken from the taxpayer’s refund and shown on the bank paperwork the taxpayer signs, so it is never an out-of-pocket cost to your office.

What offices ask us first.

Who answers when I call during tax season?
You call the office at (954) 710-8296 and ask for Harry. Harry Deshommes has prepared taxes for 24+ years and has worked in TaxWise for 20+. During tax season the office is open Mon–Fri 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, Sat 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Premium offices also get a direct line to Harry.
How much does it cost to start?
New offices start with the Base package: $1,295 for the 2027 season, or $1,195 if you pay by October 31, 2026. Current-year e-file is included. There is also a $40 service bureau fee per funded bank product, which is taken from your client’s refund, not paid by your office. Not included: transmission fee, SFS technology fee, and bank fees.
How do the credits work if I start in Base?
You pay for Base up front. After the season, if your office funded 50 or more bank products, you earn a $600 credit toward next season. Fund 200 or more and you earn your full $1,295 back as credit. Credits are counted from the bank’s end-of-season report and are applied to your next season with us. They are not paid out in cash. See worked examples.
Do I need my own EFIN?
Yes. Every office uses its own EFIN, and we never share or lend one. If you don’t have one yet, we help you apply. There is currently no IRS fee, but approval can take up to 45 days, so start early. How to apply for an EFIN.
Why not buy TaxWise directly from Wolters Kluwer?
You can. TaxWise sold direct starts at $1,849 for 100 individual returns, plus a one-time $83 processing fee (Wolters Kluwer list price). Through us, Base is $1,295 and gets cheaper as your office grows, down to free at 200+ funded bank products. You also get a person to call in Margate, help with bank-product enrollment, and training. I’m with another service bureau. Can I switch?
Yes. Send us last season’s bank report and we place your office in Base, Medium or Premium by your funded bank products. Tell Harry which software you use now, and he’ll tell you what can come over before you commit. How switching works.
